By the numbers:
- ERC currently operates four, steel-lined in-ground concrete solidification pits with capacities of 6,000 gallons each.
- Acceptable non-hazardous waste streams for solidification may be at or above 140 degrees Fahrenheit; it can vary from untreatable ink waste streams to heavy sludges and solids.
- The ACT 90 permit is required for all inbound haulers.
After the non-hazardous waste is solidified, it’s shipped off-site to PA DEP approved landfills and waste-to-energy facilities.
All waste is sampled, profiled, and analyzed in accordance with ERC's PA DEP permit prior to offloading.
In the ERC facility, outside haulers can rinse out trucks and trailers after unloading. Rinsing of haulers' vessels is available upon request with both CSE and non-CSE washouts available. ERC requests that all rinse-outs are scheduled in advance.
